STANLEY

Stanley’s story started with being abandoned by his biological parents and he was left to fend for himself on the streets of Cite Soleil. In 2017  was selected by gang leaders to go to an orphanage where he started getting cared for, but an orphanage environment is not the best for a child’s development.

When the orphanage closed Stanley was placed with a foster family and has lived with them with support from Haiti Mama for several years, he is finally happy and settled with his family.

The area where he is currently living with his foster family is still gang controlled and it is time for us to move him and his foster family closer to the rest of the Haiti Mama family, in our new rural location.

His foster family needs financial support while we settle them into our new community and give them the opportunity for autonomy through our job creation and education programs. We are planning that it will take at least 6 months to regroup and create that independence.

Stanley is currently 17 years old and will be going into the 5th grade this fall.
